Chocolate Sugar Cookies

Recipe for Chocolate sugar cookies 3/4 cup unsalted butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 3/4 cocoa powder 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Cream together butter and sugar, add egg and vanilla, beat until combined. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Place the dough onto a sheet of parchment paper and form into a ball. Place another sheet of parchment paper on top of the dough and roll using a rolling pin until the dough is 1/4 inch thick. Place the dough in the refrigerator and chill for about 1 hour. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into desired shapes. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 to 11 minutes at 350°F. Remove from the oven and let the cookies rest for at least 30 minutes before decorating with desired icings.
